About
I’m Daniel aka gnomengineer. I live in Switzerland and work as a professional C++/Qt software engineer.
Linux - OpenSource - Swiss Quality
My nickname gnomengineer is a blend (a portmanteau) of the words gnome from the high fantasy and engineer as in software engineer. I describe myself similar to a gnome regarding the facts I always have had ideas for inventions and I’m very cheerful in most aspects.
Brilliant inventors with an irrepressibly cheerful disposition - worldofwarcraft
Gnomes are an amiable and kindhearted lot. They make and keep friends easily… [They] are gifted tinkers, and have a penchant for creating radical technology and innovative designs - wowwiki
So whenever I tinker around with my computer setup or sit down and write code, I strive for Swiss quality and an organized workflow.
A good project needs a better plan.
My projects may cover a lot of different computer topics and that’s what I do.
My interests may change from time to time and so do the projects I work on.
Generally said, most of them will cover either Linux or OpenSource.
